It's winter and with winter you get snow. Getting a couple feet of snow all at once can be quite overwhelming. We recently experienced quite a storm. It was more than a storm, it was a blizzard. Roads and businesses were closed. People were stuck. The snow came and so did the winds. It can be creepy hearing the wind blow during the night. The following day you can hear trees cracking from the winds.
Here's a short video giving an idea of what we woke to.
As the day went on, we would go out and shovel. The snowblower wasn't getting through the deep snow as well as expected. The path down to the girls was finished by shoveling. It will probably be days before the chickens get outside.
Towards the end of the day, we made our way to the driveway. We shoveled down the top few layers of snow and then used the snowblower. Our main concern is being able to get the car out of the garage. I also learned how to use the snowblower.
After all that hard work, our neighbor came with his Kubota and finished up the area for us. But after all is said and done, the snow looks beautiful. This is one of my favorite seasons and it's nice to be able to enjoy it.

Wow! That snow brings back memories! Thanks for the video, It really felt as though I was standing there with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky. I've been trying to video more and more. It's really working for me :)
DeleteCongratulations on learning to use the snow blower! Always a love/hate relationship with snow, but it is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. The video was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tori. It was a lot of fun but hard work that day. I'm starting to itch for Spring and the garden :)
